Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is in Iraq on a state visit, and to talk with various factions (A visit to Ayatollah Sistani is scheduled for today). It's the first such visit since the 1980 war to talk trade and mutual security, and no doubt he considers the US a threat to their mutual security. Yesterday he stated that it was 'ridiculous' for the US to claim that Iran was interfering in Iraq's affairs when the US has 160,000 troops in the country.
Colombia, America's military proxy in Latin America, crosses the Ecuadorian border to kill the FARC minister of Information and a number of others. The government of Ecuador is enraged and has kicked the Colombian ambassador out. Venezuela sends 5 battalions to the Venz/Colombian border and promised mutual aid to Ecuador, as have a number of other neighbor nations in a recent treaty similar to NATO alliance for Latin America.
